TDRF Major Development Plan
Be a part of the future of The David Roche Foundation as it embarks on a major four-stage development plan to cement its position as Australia’s pre-eminent house museum; and henceforward, to rank alongside some the finest, worldwide. It is a continuous program delivering benefits to the State and its community, in perpetuity.
We invite philanthropic support and sponsorship from individuals, trusts and foundations, corporates, and government to realise the Foundation’s bold vision for its location on Melbourne Street, North Adelaide, to evolve into a unique cultural and world renowned destination.
First opened to the public in 2016, the Foundation is undertaking a Continuous Development Plan that will significantly expand and enrich all that The David Roche Collection can offer to reach its full potential and enhance the cultural life of South Australia.
Your donation, gift or bequest will help drive this major capital program.
Stage 1 sets out a creative re-imagination of the Melbourne Street site, involving a large-scale alteration and new build doubling the size of the museum. It includes a new state-of-the-art auditorium, galleries, research library, retail, dining and accommodation.
- Please give to the capital campaign to support the auditorium, library, workshops, exhibition storage, gallery.
Stage 2 centres on an expanded program of quality exhibitions, lectures, and related new ventures, including bringing in works of art, individuals, and institutions from across the visual and performing arts, both national and international.
- Give to the programming to support the exhibitions, lecturer series, scholarships, new ventures.
Stage 3 develops links with the universities and other cultural institutions for educational, outreach and professional development in the arts. Stage 4 of our plan will be pivotal in promoting Adelaide and SA as a cultural hub for artists, historians, exhibitors, collectors to interstate visitors.
