Bruce Nuske: Classicisms and other foibles
Fermoy House | 2 August – 1 October 2016
A response to the pervasive history and enduring legacy of Classicism, explored topically as object and metaphor. Ceramics and appropriated objects will present the interplay.
In 2016 The David Roche Foundation is thrilled to join the SALA festival for the first time and to work with renowned contemporary ceramist, Bruce Nuske. With a particular interest in the historical development of the decorative arts, Bruce is perfectly matched to explore the variety and richness of the Roche Collection. Objects that combine utilitarian function and decorative style – that invite touch and intimate connections – are the focus of Bruce’s time at the Roche Collection, culminating in an intimate exhibition of new ceramic responses.
