David Simmons

Director

David is the remaining original director and advisory council member of The David Roche Foundation from its incorporation in 2001. He was responsible for negotiating its museum status with the Australian Tax Office.

David was David Roche’s personal solicitor, and as a solicitor has acted for many public companies and major private organisations both nationally and internationally. He was the founding partner of Thomson Simmons now Thomson Geer.

David’s legal practice specialised in the corporate banking and finance areas.

As well as David’s extensive legal practice he had a major corporate involvement acting as a Director of public companies, large private organisations, government boards and advisor and consultant to many entities. He brings a commercial approach to both legal and corporate matters.

In addition to professional appointments he has had a number of public appointments including a Trustee of the Multicultural Arts Trust of South Australia. A member of the Flinders University Law School Advisory Board. A member of the Council of the Arts Gallery of South Australia Foundation. A counsellor of the Family Business Institute of Australia, President of the South Australian Jewish Board of Governors and Inaugural Chairman of the Seymour College Foundation a member NAB Yakult Scholarship Fund, and the Adelaide Centre Foundation Board.
